About Us

P.J. Brown & Sons, Hemel Hempstead car and commercial breakers have been a local name for well over 60 years. The dismantler’s yard was first opened by Peter’s father Jim back in the 1950’s in St Agnells lane, this was the very first yard of its kind in the area. Eventually they moved to Cupid Green Yards and soon became Hemel Hempstead’s focal point for people sourcing quality used parts for repairing their cars, as this was far cheaper than purchasing new vehicle parts, and to this day nothing has changed!

24 Hour Breakdown Recovery
If you happen to break down we can get you and your car back to your destination at any time of the day or night. As well as 24 hour vehicle recovery, we also provide a delivery and collection service for local garages, traders, car enthusiasts etc. Our fleet of smartly sign written Recovery Vehicles ranges from crew cab spec lift trucks to light HGV. We will travel any distance to get you and your vehicle where you need to be.

MOT and Servicing
P.J. Brown & Sons also offer MOT and servicing for your vehicle. Our mechanics are extremely knowledgeable with all types of vehicles, from the very basic of motors to the most advanced, as well as the prestige.

An affordable and high standard of work is what we aim for. If you are quoted £150 minimum repair on your car we will arrange free collection of your car with one of our professional recovery vehicles, saving you the worry of breaking down on the way to us.

Cars Bought and Sold
We will buy any car, any age, or any condition. If you have a car to scrap, or maybe you have purchased a new one, or have just been given a company vehicle and need to get rid of your previous car, dependant on its age and condition we can offer you a cash price. Same day service meaning we will pay and collect your car the very day you call us.
