Procedure
The teeth whitening specialist carries out an in-depth consultation examining the teeth, the gums and explaining the procedure, the strengths and weaknesses of the different whitening procedures and side effects from the procedure. Also at this point, the client’s expectations are discussed and teeth graded with a vita shade guide to show you the expected outcome of your treatment.
If you then wish to have the whitening treatment, this can be performed at this stage, providing your teeth are healthy.

Firstly we will apply a Gum dam between the teeth and the gum to protect the gums and the tooth cavity, pure vitamin E swabs are then applied to the exposed gums and inside of lips. The Whitening gel is applied to the teeth within the smile line, then we place the LED Laser Light close to the mouth to accelerate the whitening process for 15 minutesoduring, the gel will then be wiped away and a fresh whitening gel is applied, this will be repeated three times for a full treatment to achieve a shade drop of between 8 - 12 shades.

What can you eat after treatment?
After the treatment you will need to follow the 'White Diet'.
We recommend that for the 48 hours after treatment you avoid certain foods and drinks. It is best to avoid any food or liquid that has a strong colour to avoid re-staining your teeth in the short period after treatment.
The following food and beverages should be avoided for at least 48 hours:
Tea
• Coffee
• Red Wine
• Cola
• Curries
• Dark Green Vegetables
• Tomatoes and tomato based sauces/juices
• Red Meat
• Soy sauce
• Berries or other dark fruits and fruit sauces
• Food and drinks containing dyes or artificial colourings
• Simple rule - If it will stain a white blouse then it will stain your teeth!

You can however consumer white coloured food and drinks like: MilkWaterBananasWhite FishChickenTurkeyQuornRicePastaWhite SaucesBoiled Potatoes, Jacket without skin, Mashed without butterBread and Pitta

Do not brush your teeth for at least 24 hours after the treatment, chewing sugar free gum is fine.
Use lukewarm salted water to gargle frequently should any minor gum irritation occur, vitamin E swabs will also be given in your post treatment pack.
Smokers are advised not to smoke for at least 48 hours.
It is perfectly normal to experience minor tooth sensitivity to hot and cold for 1 – 2 days after the treatment.
If you wish to consume alcohol within the 48 hours after your treatment, white wine, vodka, gin and tonic is advised.
