Hayley Colley, 15, of Hemel Hempstead organised a sponsored walk from Hemel Hempstead to Watford town Centre on Saturday 10th November in aid of Children in Need. A host of friends and family turned out, dressed in an array of costumes, to support this well- deserving cause.
They gathered in the town centre in high spirits dampened a little by a representative of the Rememberance Day group telling them they shouldn't be there 'without a licence'.
However, things were soon smoothed over after assurances the Children in Need group were not staying in the town all day. Far from it - they were hiking all the way to Watford for their cause!
The day was a resounding success which raised £1000.
Luckily the group did not face the long walk back from Watford thanks to the minicoaches donated by Terry's Coaches and the drivers, Wendy and Brian, who gave their services cheerfully.
Hayley wishes to thank all the walkers and the helpers for making it such a fun-filled and successful day.
