The Grovehill Club has been established since March 2009.
The Grovehill Club provides play opportunities and care for children after school finishes, enabling parents to work, study or ‘chill’ in the knowledge that their children are safe and having fun. The club operates every school day and is open all day during school holidays.
The club operates a policy of equal opportunities and welcomes applications from minority ethnic groups and children with special needs. We cater for children aged 8 to 11.
The Grovehill Club is owned by Julie Banks. Julie and her team welcome contributions and comments from parents to steer the development of the club.
The club uses a ‘walking bus’ to collect children from Hammond, Asycliffe Drive Primary, and Maple Grove schools. Children from other schools currently attend the club and are transported by parents.
The Grovehill Club provides a daily program of stimulating and creative activities. Each day there are supervised activities e.g. as model making, music making, parachute games, bingo, quizes as well as various activities such as dressing up clothes, play kitchen, arts and crafts, board games - all of these are available for the children to freely wander around. Occassionally we watch a DVD or have the computer games out.
All permanent staff are either NVQ3 or NVQ 2 qualified in Childcare. All hold current first aid certificates, have attended child protection and arts/crafts specialist day.
Please feel free to attend the first session, which is free. You are welcome to stay and join in the fun and watch your child(ren) meet new friends from across Grovehill and have a really great time in a secure, fun environment.
